Hello. I just found this subreddit and decided to join in.

Hello. My name is Eirik. I'm from the USA. I'm 17 years old(18 this month) and desperately need to lose weight. I'm currently 342 pounds, my goal weight is 200 pounds. I started MyFitnessPal a few months ago, for about a month, and I lost around 10 pounds. But, I got depressed, and stopped my diet and started eating like I used to for the last 2 months. Now, I'm at the same weight when I first started MFP and I'm giving it another go. I have a few questions if anyone is willing to answer them for me, thank you.


  • I'm homeschooled, so most of my day I'm sitting at the computer doing my school work. Will I be able to reach my goal of 200 pounds by mostly dieting? I'm going to eat around 2,160 calories a day because that's what MFP is telling me to eat.

  • How do you guys stay motivated? Whenever I try to diet, I wake up in the morning really hungry and depressed, so it's hard for me to stick to my diet.


Thanks for reading. I looked at all of the posts on here, so right now I'm very motivated to lose weight, and hopefully I stay this way. Sorry if there are any typos, I'm typing this at 1:00 AM and I'm very tired.
