TL;DR: I hiked 8 miles, 3200 ft elevation gain and I'm pretty damned stoked.
After I lost about 40 lbs, I started trying to go hiking on several occasions. I went to Zion National Park in Utah, the Grand Canyon, and other hikes around Las Vegas. I did some really nice hikes but I always had to scale back my goals because I would get immensely tired.
Since then, I moved to Washington state and I lost a bunch more weight so I continued hiking. Yesterday, I hiked Mount Si which is about 8 miles and 3200 ft elevation gain. I made it to the top in 2 hours which I hear is decent. Less than a year ago I could barely walk a mile on a flat surface!
