What's up with those people who follow 3000-5000 calorie diets and not gain weight on keto? What about CICO?

First of all, I would like to introduce myself to this sub. I'm 159cm tall, male and weigh 65.9kg and I've lost 2.7kg from 68.6kg during my first week of weight loss!(last week)

I'm pretty much now asking this question because I was hanging out on /r/keto after finding out someone here had lost 5 pounds a week on a keto diet. I found a link someone posted which was supposed to be the reason they don't believe in CICO. It's here, I don't really know what to make of it:http://ift.tt/1R4o2Hi

It kind of violates the rules of thermodynamics which is way freaky. Could there be an explanation for this happening? Some wonky things going on with their bodies because of the change in diet composition? In any case, I'm still sticking with my current CICO but am having some doubts after seeing those anecdotal experiments.
