27F 5'6'' 160lbs Calorie counting - yet continuing to gain weight HELP!

Hi Folks,

Fairly new here, but actually at my wits end, so hoping someone can help!

As the title states, I am 27, female, and actively calorie counting (have been for months) but all that seems to be happening is weight gain. I am moderately active (I walk a few miles every day just during the course of commuting), I run twice a week (between 1.5 and 3 miles) and am dabbling in bodyweight training (although right now nothing enough to be causing crazy muscle gain).

I've tipped over the edge of depression because no matter what I seem to do, I keep expanding. I am smart about what I eat - no "fake sugars", I don't drink soda or juice, I moderate my salt intake, try to balance healthy carbs like whole grains, I cook a ton (we use Blue Apron at home), I'm smart and educated about this (at least I thought I was).

I use a calorie tracker (My Fitness Pal) religiously. I log water intake, right along with everything from the two tbsp of milk added to my coffee down to how much of a sweet potato I had with dinner - so I know I'm not actually taking in more than I am aware of. Per their recommendations for my height, weight, and activity level I should be at 1,800 calories a day to lose 1lb a week, or 1,500 a day to lose 2lb a week. Currently I clock in on an avg. daily intake of 1,700 and am still gaining.

Can anyone advise on why this might be happening?
