hello,
My girlfriend is trying to lose weight. Her goal is mostly to lose and not necessarily gain muscle. She won't tell me her goal but I think it's 30-40 pounds. I am trying to support her through this process.
We have both downloaded MyFitnessPal and discussed eating healthier - no calories or sugar through drinks, eating more veggies, fewer dessert like foods and the likes. She is trying to set goals to do about 3-4 hours of cardio a week at regularly spaced intervals.
It seemed like a good plan but I don't believe she's managed to lose any weight even after 3 weeks. She's becoming very discouraged. I want to help her and support her through this but I don't know how to do so because I have never tried to lose weight and I don't want her to feel pressured to lose weight for me. I want her to do it for herself. I am happy with her body.
I understand it's ultimately calories out vs calories in but there must be something she's missing because she's sticking to 1200 a day and hasn't seen results. Can anyone recommend something I can do to keep her encouraged or better a strategy we can discuss to get progress? I hate seeing her this unhappy.
