TL;DR: I started my weight loss in 2014 when I weighed 196 and I decided to do something about my weight. I moved right next to the gym at my university. So I go 4 days a week. Last year I went from 196 to 168.9 at my lowest. Which I was very happy about. Flash forward to this semester (I am a university student in NY). I started this semester at a fantastic weight of 166.7. I was beyond happy (I also spent 6 hours the day before coming back to school shoveling out 34" of snow, so that may have affected my number). 43 days later however, I have gained 6.3 pounds and I am beyond angry and confused. My diet has not changed for the most part while I am at school. I turned 21 28 days ago, so that may have something to do do with this. But it has not in the past (I actually lost a pound even after downing half a bottle of Jameson on St. Patricks day last year). I do know my diet is not the healthiest (Salad makes me sick) and is on par with a 8 year old, food wise, but has not been a problem for me on the past. My gym routine has stayed the same, and hasn't been a problem for me. I normally burn 1000 calories a workout. I do realize that I may be gaining muscle, but I don't think that is it. So I am really confused by this. I am doing my routine from last year and all of a sudden it is not working for me. Has anyone ever been in a situation like me before? I am concerned that this is a long term thing and may result in me gaining back the weight that I lost.
TL;DR: I have gone from 166.7 to 173 in 42 days and I don't know why.
