I'm starting to seriously track calories. My short term motivation is my wedding 8/27/16. My fiance and I are have worked out nine days in a row now and are extremely excited and motivated. We've been tracking our calories and making far better choices in the last few days. That being said I'm having doubts about my LoseIt app and its deficit it has me on.
I'm male, 5'11", 27 years old, work a desk job, and started out weighing 237 but have been higher. My started weight last week in the app at 237. I selected 2lb/week loss. The app has allotted me 1973 calories per day. If I'm to understand that to be a 1000 calorie per day deficit then it assumes my TDEE is 2973 calories. That seems high to me and has me wondering. I've run different calculators and gotten a range of numbers, as expected, but they've all been lower.
I guess I'm wondering if that sounds right to start at. I understand I shouldn't rush into a diet of 1300 calories per day immediately but 1973 just seems like a lot and I don't see long term a 2lb/week weight loss happening with that many calories. We are doing 21 day fix videos every day because she bought it and it is the best way, with our schedules, that we can motivate and keep each other accountable is to work out together at home.
I'd appreciate any thoughts.
