Need Motivation Today

I've been going to the gym almost every day for a month. Eating under 1200 calories and not cheating. I've started keeping track with my Fitness pal and after weighting myself yesterday I've only lost .9 pounds. I feel like I plateaued the second I got started.

Today I just want to sit on the couch and do nothing. Can anyone offer me some motivation?

Hoping to inspire some change in myself via poetry. Wanted to share here because I don't really talk about this to people in real life

Dietary Cycle

Spring time.

Birds and trees and grass time.

Sad time.

Can’t wear shorts

or dresses time.

Hide as much cellulite

as possible time.

Wrap my arms

around my body

when I sit

so people don’t see

all my rolls time.

Cry time.

Stare in the mirror

for too long

and decide not to go time.

Lonely time.

Sorry I can’t make it

to the beach

because I have a thing time.

Binge time.

Eat a whole cake

because I eat my feelings time.

But maybe not.

Maybe it’s a change time.

Get up off my ass

and break the cycle time.

Maybe finally I can finally

live my life time.

What's your weight loss pattern?

I posted this in today's NSV/SV thread but I thought it would be interesting to hear how other people lose weight. I finally figured out last week that my weight loss follows a pattern: the weeks before and during my period I don't lose anything, I sometimes go up by a pound. The two weeks after I lose about 2 lbs per week. This averages out to the 1 lb per week loss that I eat toward. It is such a liberating feeling to have figured this out!

Is there a pattern to how you lose weight? How long did it take you to figure it out? Have you had to make any adjustments to your diet and/or exercise routine since discovering what your pattern is?

Weight loss jealousy? Losing friends?

How do you deal with strained friendships due to weight loss jealousy? One friend has gotten crazy nasty to me over the past year. Nothing really has changed in our friendship, aside from the fact that I've gotten much more fit and look pretty different. Ive had to deal with backhanded compliments a lot and how I'm obsessed with dieting and fitness. I am careful to never talk about dieting or working out in front of her, as I know it probably triggers her own insecurities with being an overweight woman. It's gotten increasingly worse though. This weekend at the bar a few men ended up buying me drinks and my friend was so upset that she wasn't getting attention, she ended up storming out of the bar and later even wrecking her car. My other friend later confided in me that she'd been gossiping about me all day. I don't have issues cutting people out of my life, but I kind of struggle how to handle this. If I cut her off it will strain my relationships with other friends that our part of our friend group. But I also didnt think I'd get so much backlash from something so personal as improving my health.

Very frustrated. What's going on?

I started counting calories in September and had lost 60 lbs by February. Since I was doing so well, I decided to add exercise to my weight loss program. I chose walking because I have a dog and she can benefit from that as well.

Ever since I added brisk walks to our day, my weight has plateaued and even gone up. I had got down to 265 and now I keep yo-yoing back and forth from 266 to 268. I know it's only 2 weeks but it has me very discouraged.

I was so excited. Yesterday I reached 10,314 steps and then this morning I weighed 2 lbs more than yesterday.

I have been faithfully weighing and logging all food on MFP. I don't eat back calories from exercise and I routinely drink 96 oz of water a day.

What gives?
